Devynne Charlton is a celebrated Bahamian track and field athlete who has become a trailblazer in the sprint hurdles. Born on November 26, 1995, in Nassau, The Bahamas, Devynne's passion for athletics has taken her from her early days at Sts. Francis & Joseph Catholic Primary School and St. Augustine’s College to the global stage of the Olympic Games and World Championships.
Devynne's impressive collegiate career at Purdue University saw her become a 4-time Big Ten Track Athlete of the Championships and a 9-time NCAA DI All-American, setting multiple school records. As a professional athlete, Devynne has represented The Bahamas in prestigious international competitions, winning gold at the 2024 World Indoor Championships and breaking the World Record in the 60m hurdles.
Her dedication to track and field is matched only by her desire to give back to her community. Through her foundation, she aims to provide financial support and mentorship to young athletes, particularly in The Bahamas, who are striving to break their own barriers and pursue their dreams.
"I created this foundation to give back to the community that helped me grow. My journey is a testament to what’s possible when you have the right support. It’s time to pay it forward and break down the barriers that stand in the way of future champions."
